It’s crazy. I’ve owned my plumbing, heating, cooling business for 22 years now, and have seen many ups and downs (more “ups” thankfully!) of economy, weather, and technology.
But things are beyond “busy” now and I need to hire 3 good, solid, caring people – who want to serve others, while learning and getting paid. Not bad!
1) CSR (Customer Service Rep) who can “multi task”. Okay, this is a nice way of saying, you can stay calm while others around you go nuts. You must be able to speak to a customer, order a part online, and find my pen all at the same time. (Where’d that thing go?) You need a pleasant voice, caring attitude, and strong organizational skills. The rest I can train you. Pay is equal to experience + bonuses.
2) HVAC Tune Up Specialist. For the person who wants to become a full-fledged tech, this position allows you to serve Precision Tune-Up customers, while learning service and people skills. Pay also runs with experience, + bonuses, with tons of “upside” potential.
3) HVAC Technician. This is for the person who has enough experience to know the job, but not so much that you know everything. This is for an eager, skilled, trained, reliable person who’s also willing to train. Pay runs with skill, plus bonuses.
Okay, I feel it’s fair to say what I don’t want too. If this offends you, I’m sorry in advance, but it’s for both our good…
No whiners. Look, bad stuff happens. But there’s so much good out there that it makes no sense to focus on the bad. Each day is a gift, but you may have to remove a couple layers of wrapping first! Constant complainers need to find work elsewhere… like my competition! (Just kidding, really)
No drug users. You have a problem. This job is not going to solve it. Get help. I drug test. Please tell your family or friends you need help. That’s the first step.
No “I hate my last boss and here’s why” stories. This may sound harsh, but I don’t care. That’s in the past and this job is the future. Let’s make it better by keeping the past right where it is.
